Background

Lisa Handman is a Professional Harpist based in the Atlanta area. She performs throughout the Southeast, including Georgia, Alabama, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. Lisa is an active, full-time freelance performer and teacher, providing music for wedding ceremonies, receptions, parties, conventions, corporate events, holiday parties, concerts, outdoor functions, grand openings, bar/bat Mitzvahs, open houses, rehearsal dinners, memorial services, and special occasions.

Ms. Handman offers a splendid repertoire of music that includes, but is not limited to Popular, Classical, New Age, Jazz, Celtic, Jewish, Broadway, and Religious styles. She has harps for any occasion – a beautiful Pedal Harp, a rare Electric Harp, or a Celtic Harp. The electric harp with its individually amplified strings and complete sound system, make it an ideal choice for large receptions halls or outdoor functions. It is the only one of its kind in the Atlanta area.

Lisa was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show, the ABC program “20/20”, the B98.5 Morning Show, and the soundtrack for “Interview with a Vampire”. Regional and local performances include the Chattanooga and Greenville Symphony Orchestras, 1996 Olympic Receptions for International Federation of Aquatics, Israeli Paralympic Team, and IBM Olympic Hospitality.

Lisa was a Merit Scholar at Manhattan School of Music, Preparatory Division. She Subsequently attended the prestigious Indiana University School of music and earned Her Bachelor of Music Education Degree from Montclair State University, where she studied with Rosalie Pratt, nationally renowned harpist. Other teachers include Jane Weidensaul and Peter Eagle.
