Any gathering is a challenge during these times of social distancing. I performed my first socially distant wedding yesterday. Weddings are going to look a lot different for a while and I thought I would provide a few pictures so that you can see how this is done, if you are considering this option. I must admit I was at first very hesitant about doing this and had to work out every little detail ahead of time so that everyone can feel comfortable.
The wedding party consisted of the bride and groom, and their three adult children. The chapel chairs were cleared out on one whole side so that became my own socially distant space.
Everyone wore masks, including the bride and groom. The wedding coordinator even provided a bag for me with mask, gloves and hand sanitizer.
Everyone took turns going through the hallway entrance so that no one came within 6 feet of each other. I also now have crowd control barriers and socially distant signs as part of my equipment set up.
The wedding was videotaped and later shown online to all of the guests that were originally invited to the wedding. The room was decorated beautifully and the bride was stunning in her wedding gown.
