This Valentine’s Day, love was in the air—and so was music that stirred the soul. I had the joy of performing on the harp for a vibrant 55-and-over community in Gainesville, Georgia, and the experience was nothing short of magical.

What surprised me most was the energy in the room. Harp music is often associated with quiet reflection, but that evening, it became the soundtrack to celebration. Couples swayed together, friends clapped along, and before long, the dance floor was alive with movement. Seeing the audience up and dancing to harp renditions of their beloved tunes was a moment I’ll never forget.
The warmth and enthusiasm of the Gainesville community made the evening feel like a shared love letter to music. It was more than a performance—it was a connection across generations, a reminder that music has the power to unite, uplift, and transport us to cherished times.
As the final notes echoed through the hall, I was met with heartfelt applause and grateful smiles. Performing for this incredible audience was a Valentine’s gift in itself, and I left with my heart full, already dreaming of the next time I’ll return with my harp and a song.
